ABOUT

The Grayson National Bank was originally chartered as The Bank of Grayson in October 1900. The first bank building was located within the same block on Main Street in Independence, Virginia, as the current facility. On March 31, 1916, the bank was granted a national bank charter by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and its name was changed to Grayson County National Bank. On June 1, 1955, the bank received approval to make another name change to The Grayson National Bank.

Over the years we have sought to make banking convenient for all residents of Grayson County by opening additional branches in Independence, Elk Creek Troutdale, and Whitetop community. The Bank has also grown considerably outside of Grayson County with the addition of branches in the City of Galax, the Town of Sparta, NC, Carroll County and the Town of Hillsville.

A lot has changed since 1900, but as we continue to grow we recognize the fact that one thing remains the same. Our customers want a sound, independent, community bank they can depend upon to provide banking services designed to meet their unique, individual needs. At Grayson National, we are committed to being that bank.
